Wedding venues in Montenegro

Bay of Kotor · Tivat & Porto Montenegro · Budva & South Coast· Central Montenegro & Skadar Lake

Montenegro has a real variety of wedding venues.

Medieval fortresses, waterfront restaurants, boutique hotels, private villas, and beach clubs, spread across three parts of the coast.

The Bay of Kotor is the most popular region, with venues in Kotor old town, Perast, and along the bay's shoreline.

Tivat and Porto Montenegro offer a more modern setting, with marina views and hotel terraces.

Budva and the south coast offer hilltop villas with panoramic views, beach clubs, and venues close to Sveti Stefan, the image most people picture when they think of Montenegro.

Below is a selection of venues we work with. Prices and capacities are listed as a guide.

If you're not sure which area or style suits your plans, get in touch and we'll help you figure it out.

Budva & the South Coast

Budva and the South Coast area suits couples who want more than just the wedding day.

The coastline here faces open sea, so the light and views are different from the Bay of Kotor.

Budva has a Venetian old town, good restaurants, and nightlife, which makes it a natural base for a wedding weekend with guests who like to explore.

It's also the best starting point for day trips inland. Durmitor National Park, Prokletije, and Lake Skadar are all reachable without a full day of driving. If you've heard of the long sandy beach stretching towards Albania near Ulcinj, or the Ada Bojana river where you can try fresh river fish, this is the region to be in.

This region is also well known for wine. There are many small private wineries in the area, and quite a few of our couples build a wine tour into the wedding weekend, either as a welcome event the day before or a way to wind down after. Small family wineries, local varieties, lunch on a terrace.

It works well for groups who want something relaxed between the bigger moments.

Beach club Galija

Galija sits right beneath the red cliffs of Sveti Stefan, one of the most recognizable spots on the Montenegrin coast. The ceremony takes place on the pier, right at the water's edge.

What makes this venue stand out is the backup. The terrace has floor-to-ceiling glass walls that slide fully open in good weather, and close if it rains. You get an open-air feel when the weather holds, and a fully enclosed space when it doesn't. No need to move anyone anywhere. That flexibility is rare, and it matters.

The venue is also genuinely private. No passing strangers, no shared spaces with other guests.

Capacity: up to 200 guests

Music: until 1am

Hotel Avala Old town Budva

Hotel Avala sits right next to the walls of Budva's old town, with the old town itself a 50-meters walk from the door.

This venue works particularly well for couples who want simple logistics.

Guests stay in the hotel, the wedding is in the hotel, and nobody needs to arrange transport at the end of the night. It also works well in the shoulder season: the restaurant has glass walls that open fully in good weather and close when needed, so the venue is just as usable in May or October as it is in peak summer.

Capacity: up to 200 guests

Music: until 1am

Restaurant Bruno Old Town Budva

Bruno is the main restaurant of Hotel Avala, which means it's a larger space in the same convenient location.

At 400 guests, it's one of the bigger venue options in the Budva area.

Because this restaurant also serves as the hotel's breakfast room, availability is limited to the shoulder and low season.

Think up to early May, or from mid-September onwards. If your dates fall in that window and you need a bigger space, it's worth asking about.

Capacity: up to 400 guests

Music: until 1am

Citadela Budva

Citadela is a real Venetian fortress, right inside Budva's old town.

The ceremony and reception take place within the fortress walls, which is something guests genuinely don't expect and don't forget.

If you want a venue that creates a wow moment the second people walk in, this is it.

It's also a reliable choice weather-wise. The fortress has two large library rooms that work as backup spaces if the weather turns, so the event can move inside without losing the atmosphere.

Capacity: up to 300 guests

Music: until 1am

Dukley seafront restaurant Budva

Dukley is one of the more upscale venues in the Budva area.

The restaurant is part of Dukley Resort, which means guests can stay on-site and walk to the venue from their rooms.

The space has sliding walls that open to the sea in good weather and close when needed. It's a smaller venue, up to 50 guests, which suits couples who want a high-end setting for a more compact wedding.

Budva's old town is walkable from here, so guests have somewhere to explore before or after.

Capacity: up to 60 guests

Music: until midnight

Sumosan Budva, Dukley Resort

Sumosan is built on an overwater platform, which is genuinely unusual for Montenegro and makes it one of the more visually striking venues on this list.

There's an upper terrace for welcome cocktails with open sea views, a separate ceremony area, and a dedicated reception space for dinner and dancing.

One thing to keep in mind: Sumosan is available in the shoulder season only, April through June and September through October. If your dates fall in July or August, this one isn't an option.

Capacity: up to 100 guests

Music: until midnight

Vista Vidikovac Budva

Vista sits on a hilltop above Budva with a direct view over the old town and the sea below. It's one of the few venues in the area where the setting does most of the work, both for the event and for photos.

It handles larger weddings well, up to 300 guests, and suits couples who want something elevated compared to the beachfront options in the area.

Capacity: up to 300 guests

Music: until 1am

La Casa Mia Near Budva

A small restaurant with a terrace and stunning sea view, about a 10-minute drive from Budva.

It has an indoor space as well, so there's a backup if the weather turns.

The kitchen works with produce from their own farm and a fresh fish delivery each morning, with an Italian chef running the food.

Capacity: up to 50 guests

Music: until midnight

Villa Mona Lisa Budva area

A historic villa on the hills above Budva, with an infinity pool looking out over Sveti Stefan, Budva old town, and the island of Sveti Nikola.

The view from the pool is one of the better ones in the area.

The villa sits on 16 acres and takes up to 12 guests for overnight stays, with the event space handling up to 60.

It's a fully private setting — no other guests, no shared spaces.

A kilometers down the road is the Monastery of Stanjevici, which some couples visit as part of the wedding weekend.

Accommodation: up to 12 guests Event capacity: up to 60 guests

Music outside: until midnight

Oak Leaf Residences Near Budva

Oak Leaf is four private villas on one property, which means the whole group can stay together on site. The villas are well-kept and comfortable, which matters when guests are staying for the full weekend.

The venue works for smaller weddings: ceremony and reception for up to 40 guests, with catering brought in. It's a good fit for couples who want something private and relaxed without the scale of a larger venue.

Accommodation: up to 28 guests across four villas (7 per villa)

Capacity for the banquet: up to 40 guests

Music: until 11pm. Acoustic music after 11pm is permitted when all four villas are booked.

Villa Cape Montenegro, 20 minutes from Budva

Cape Montenegro is a compound of five private villas set above the Adriatic, with sea views and a dedicated ceremony spot on a circular platform beside the infinity pool.

The main wedding villa is Villa Epsilon. The four neighbouring villas are where guests stay, which means the whole group is together on one property for the full weekend.

It's a good fit for couples who want a more residential feel. Everyone stays in the same place, no transfers to coordinate between hotels, and the pool and terrace are there for the whole group the morning after.

The property also has a spa suite and a private wine and cigar room if you want to build more into the weekend.

Accommodation: up to 45 guests across 5 villas

Music: until midnight, extendable to 3am with an additional charge

Villa Olive Queen, 30 minutes from Budva

Olive Queen is a rustic estate surrounded by olive groves and hills.

It's a different feel from the coastal venues closer to Budva, and suits couples who want a countryside setting rather than the sea as their backdrop.

The venue holds up to 70 guests for the reception. Accommodation on site is small, just 5 guests, so most people would stay in Budva and drive over.

Reception capacity: up to 70 guests

Music: until 11PM

Villa Montebay Petrovac, 20 minutes from Budva

Villa Montebay sits on its own above the sea near Petrovac, away from the main tourist areas.

The sunsets here are particularly good - deep red, with an open view across the water.

The villa sleeps up to 17 guests on site, which means the wedding party can stay together for the whole weekend.

For couples who want a real celebration with space and privacy, that combination works well.

Capacity: up to 100 guests

Music: until 1am

Villa Talici Hill, 35 minutes from Budva

Talici Hill is a restored 17th-century stone villa on 5,000 square metres of private grounds, with a heated infinity pool and sea views. It's in the south of the country, about 30 to 40 minutes from Budva, in the Bar area.

The outdoor event space handles up to 200 guests.

What makes this venue stand out is the indoor event hall on site: 100 square metres, designed specifically as a backup if the weather turns. The party moves inside without disrupting anything.

Accommodation: up to 18 guests, 7 bedrooms Reception capacity: up to 200 guests

Music outside: until midnight, then moves indoors

Dulamerovic Resort, 90 minutes from Budva

Dulamerovic is a full resort on the waterfront, about 90 minutes south of Budva in the Bar area.

It's one of the further options on this list, but also one of the few where a large portion of guests can stay on site - the resort has 35 rooms and accommodates up to 60 people.

For a wedding of up to 150 guests with a lot of international travellers, having most of the group in one place matters. The resort has a spa, diving centre, water sports, and boat rides, so there's plenty to keep people busy before and after the wedding day.

For couples with a lot of guests flying in from North America, the resort is just over an hour's drive from Tirana airport in Albania, which often has better transatlantic connections than Montenegrin airports.

Accommodation: up to 60 guests, 35 rooms Reception capacity: up to 150 guests

Music: until 3am

Bay of Kotor Wedding Venues

The Bay of Kotor is Montenegro's most requested wedding region. Medieval old towns, waterfront restaurants, boutique hotels, and private villas line the bay from Herceg Novi to Kotor and Perast.

Full venue descriptions are being updated shortly.

Cattaro Fortress Old Town Kotor

Cattaro sits right on the walls of Kotor's old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's one of the more professionally run venues in the Bay of Kotor area, with a dedicated team and two terraces that work well together.

The layout allows for clear zoning: a welcome area, a separate dining space, and a dance floor, each in its own part of the venue. For couples who want the evening to flow in a natural sequence without everything happening in the same spot, that separation makes a real difference.

Capacity: up to 200 guests

Music: until 1am

Hotel Forza Terra Bay of Kotor, near Kotor Old Town

Forza Terra is a five-star boutique hotel a short walk from Kotor old town, with views over the bay and its own beach, spa, pool bar, restaurant and private winery.

This venue works on a full buyout basis only. To host a wedding here, you book out the entire hotel for 3 nights.

That gives you all 12 double rooms, sleeping up to 24 guests, and the event terrace is included in the buyout at no extra charge. There is no option to book the terrace separately.

For a smaller wedding where the whole group stays together in one property, that's a straightforward arrangement.

The venue handles up to 80 guests for the event itself, so you can invite more people than are staying at the hotel.

Accommodation: up to 24 guests, 12 rooms Event capacity: up to 80 guests

Music: until midnight

Hotel Forza Mare Bay of Kotor, near Kotor Old Town

Forza Mare is the sister hotel to Forza Terra, with the same concept and the same location near Kotor old town.

This venue also works on a full buyout basis only. You book out the entire hotel for 3 nights, which gives you all 10 double rooms sleeping up to 20 guests, with the event terrace included at no extra charge.

There is no option to book the terrace separately.

The venue handles up to 70 guests for the event, so you can invite more than are staying at the hotel.

Konoba Barba Bay of Kotor

Konoba Barba is a waterfront restaurant with its own pier, which serves as the ceremony space.

The reception takes place on the terrace directly above the water, with open views across the bay.

It's a straightforward, unpretentious venue. The setting does the work.

Capacity: up to 50 guests

Music: until midnight

Beach Club Bajova Kula Bay of Kotor

From the road, Bajova Kula is invisible. The venue sits below, stepping down toward the water in cascading terraces.

You only understand the scale once you've walked in.

The property has a pier for the ceremony, clearly defined zones for welcome drinks, dinner and dancing, and a dancefloor by the bar that comes into its own later in the evening.

The kitchen and service team are consistently among the best we work with in the bay, and both show clearly on the day.

The venue works well for guests staying in Perast, and transfers run easily by both coach and boat.

Capacity: up to 180 guests

Music: until 1am

Restaurant Djardin Old Town Perast

Djardin is a family-run restaurant with a green courtyard in the heart of Perast.

Perast itself is one of the most photographed towns on the bay, fully pedestrian and compact enough that guests can walk between the ceremony, the reception and their accommodation without needing transport.

That makes the logistics easier than almost anywhere else on this list. Boat trips on the bay are easy to arrange from here, and the old town gives you a natural backdrop for photos without going anywhere.

Accommodation in Perast ranges across different price points, so guests can find something that works for them.

Capacity: up to 100 guests

Music: until midnight

Restaurant Conte Old Town Perast

Conte is a family-run hotel and restaurant in a restored stone palace in the centre of Perast.

The building is part of the UNESCO heritage zone and sits right on the waterfront.

Conte has its own rooms, so part of the wedding party can stay on site. For couples who want their closest guests nearby and the rest of the town within walking distance, that works well.

Capacity: up to 100 guests

Music: until midnight

Boutique Hotel Santa Boka Old Town Perast

Santa Boka is a small luxury hotel in a restored historic building in Perast, with a panoramic rooftop restaurant, a private pebble beach, a pool overlooking the bay, and a spa. Booking it for a wedding means taking over the entire property for three nights.

That changes the format completely. Guests arrive, settle in, and stay. The wedding is not a one-evening event, it's a weekend. Boat trips, sunset cruises, time on the beach between the ceremony and dinner all fit naturally into the timeline.

For couples who want their closest group in one place and a proper weekend away rather than a single evening, this is one of the stronger options in Perast.

Accommodation: up to 46 guests Banquet capacity: up to 80 guests

Music: until midnight

Heritage Grand Perast Old Town Perast

Heritage Grand is a five-star hotel in a restored 18th-century palace in the centre of Perast, part of the Rixos Hotels group and recognized by Condé Nast Traveller.

It's the most established hotel in the town and the most formal option in this region.

There are two formats for a wedding here. The Panoramic Terrace works for up to 60 guests and feels more contained. The Piazza Terrace takes up to 150 and gives you significantly more space and a different atmosphere.

Both require booking a minimum number of rooms at the hotel, which effectively makes it a partial or full buyout depending on the terrace.

Banquet capacity: up to 60 guests (Panoramic Terrace) or up to 150 guests (Piazza Terrace)

Music: until midnight

Vila Perast Old Town Perast

Vila Perast is a boutique hotel in a 15th-century palace in the heart of Perast, with direct access to the sea.

The building was historically used as accommodation for Popes and Archbishops during the Venetian period, reopened after a full renovation in 2022.

Vila Perast is one of the smaller venues on this list, which suits couples who want the whole group together in one place rather than a large event. The terrace fits up to 40 guests, and the hotel can accommodate almost the same number overnight.

Accommodation: up to 45 guests

Banquet capacity: up to 40 guests

Music: until midnight

Restaurant Verige 65 Bay of Kotor

Verige 65 sits at the narrowest point of the bay, with a glass interior that opens directly onto the water.

The view takes in Perast, the islands of Our Lady of the Rocks and St George, and the cruise ships and yachts passing through the strait.

The restaurant has its own dock for boats up to 15 metres and a large parking area, which makes arrivals by both road and water straightforward. A practical detail that matters when you're moving 60 people around.

Banquet capacity: up to 60 guests

Music: until 1am

Bocassa Beach Club Bay of Kotor

Bocassa is a beach club on the water's edge, managed by Hotel Casa Del Mare Mediterraneo.

That connection is useful: guests who want to stay close to the venue can book rooms at the hotel directly next door.

The kitchen is one of the stronger ones we work with in the bay. The menu covers both fish and meat, rooted in traditional Mediterranean flavours and paired with good local wines. Ceremonies take place on the pier.

Banquet capacity: up to 50 guests

Music: until 1am

Limonetto Beach Club Bay of Kotor

Limonetto is a beach club on the water, run by the same owners as Bocassa.

The same pier setup for the ceremony, the same kitchen team and approach to Mediterranean food and wine.

The main difference is scale: Limonetto takes up to 100 guests, which makes it the right choice when the group is larger.

Banquet capacity: up to 100 guests

Music: until 1am

Restaurant Adriatica Bay of Kotor, Kamenari

Adriatica is a stone villa surrounded by olive trees near the Kamenari ferry crossing.

The setting has an Italian feel to it, somewhere between a traditional Mediterranean estate and a working restaurant on the water.

The layout works well for weddings: a welcome drinks area, a pier for the ceremony, a separate dinner and dancefloor zone. And an open kitchen where guests can watch the fish being prepared. That detail tends to get noticed.

The ferry is worth mentioning for logistics: it's one of the quickest ways to cross the bay, which simplifies transfers if guests are coming from different sides.

Banquet capacity: up to 130 guests

Music: until 1am

Lazure Hotel & Marina Herceg Novi

Lazure is a hotel with a marina in Herceg Novi, with more venue options than most places on this list.

There are two terraces, two courtyards, a restored historic chapel, a wedding park and a banquet hall.

That range means the format can be adapted depending on the size and style of the wedding.

The team here is consistently well-reviewed, which matters when you're coordinating a full day across multiple spaces.

Accommodation is required as part of booking: a minimum of 8 rooms for 3 nights in the shoulder season, and 20 rooms for 3 nights in June and September.

Banquet capacity: from 30 to 80 guests (depending on season)

Music: until midnight (June to September), until 11pm (October to May)

Note: the hotel does not host weddings in July and August.

Restaurant Gradska Kafana Herceg Novi

Gradska Kafana sits in the centre of Herceg Novi, above the town's waterfront, with a terrace overlooking the bay.

It's one of the more established spots in the old town, known locally as much as by visitors.

Events are held in the Di Palma restaurant within the same property. The menu focuses on fresh fish, seafood and local wines. For couples who want a central location in Herceg Novi with a proper local feel, this is the straightforward choice.

Banquet capacity: up to 200 guests

Music: until midnight

Villa Nikcevic Ljuta, 15 minutes from Kotor

A private villa with its own pier in the village of Ljuta, set on the bay. Straightforward option for small groups who want the whole property to themselves for three nights.

Accommodation: up to 25 guests

Banquet capacity: up to 35 guests

Music outside: until 11pm

Villa Mima Muo, Bay of Kotor

Villa Mima is a restored stone villa in Muo on the western shore of the bay, with a private pool and gardens overlooking the water. Kotor old town is within walking distance.

A good option for small groups who want a private villa setting rather than a hotel or restaurant.

Accommodation: up to 12 guests

Banquet capacity: up to 45 guests

Music: until 11pm

Villa Casa Nostra Bay of Kotor

A five-bedroom private villa near Kotor, about 10 minutes from the old town's Sea Gate. Small-scale and self-contained, suited for close groups who want a private space for the weekend.

Accommodation: up to 10 guests

Banquet capacity: up to 35 guests

Music outside: until 11pm

Note: the villa does not host weddings in July and August.

Tivat & Porto Montenegro Wedding Venues

Tivat is where Porto Montenegro changed the tone of the whole coastline.

The marina brought a different crowd and a different energy: yachts, international visitors, a certain Florida-meets-Adriatic feel that you don't get anywhere else in Montenegro.

The venues here are modern and the infrastructure is good. Tivat airport is the closest in the country, which makes arrivals straightforward for international guests. The options range from a five-star hotel ballroom on the marina to a hillside villa with views across the bay.

Regent Porto Montenegro, Ballroom Teodo

Regent is a five-star hotel within the Porto Montenegro marina complex, part of an internationally recognized hotel group. For couples coming from the US or UK who want a name they know, this is often the first venue they ask about.

Everything is in one place: accommodation, ceremony and reception all within the same property.

The marina setting is well-maintained and the service standard is consistent.

Banquet capacity: up to 70 guests

Music: until 11pm

Restaurant La Roche Tivat

La Roche is a waterfront restaurant with a pier at the end of Tivat's pedestrian promenade.

The setting is good and the pier works well for ceremonies. The restaurant is managed by the hotel next door, which makes accommodation easy for the couple and immediate family.

One thing worth knowing: the location on a public promenade means the wedding won't be fully private.

Guests walking along the waterfront will have a view of the event. For couples who aren't fussed about that, it's a solid option. For those who need complete privacy, it's worth considering one of the other venues on this list.

Banquet capacity: up to 100 guests

Music: until midnight

Villa Eagle Eye Near Tivat

Villa Eagle Eye is one of those venues where the weekend format actually works.

The property is large enough to host everything on site across three days: a welcome dinner or pizza party with local wine tastings on the first evening, the wedding itself, and a poolside barbecue the morning after.

Everyone stays in one place for the whole weekend. And for guests who want to explore, the area has plenty: a cable car, an alpine coaster, an Austro-Hungarian fortress, and Kotor old town all within easy reach.

Tivat airport is close, which keeps arrivals and departures straightforward.

Accommodation: up to 45 guests

Banquet capacity: up to 130 guests

Music outside: until 1am

Central Montenegro & Skadar Lake Wedding Venues

Not every couple wants the sea. Central Montenegro is a different landscape entirely: vineyards, mountains, old stone villages, and the vast stillness of Skadar Lake.

The pace here is slower and the setting has a feel that is closer to Tuscany than to the Adriatic coast.

The venues in this region suit couples who are looking for something away from the water, with a strong sense of place and a different kind of scenery.

Winery Markovic

A working winery with vineyard views, away from the coast. The setting is a natural contrast to the beach clubs and hotel terraces elsewhere on this list: quieter, more rural, with the food and wine coming directly from the land around you.

Works well for couples who want something different from a seaside venue.

Banquet capacity: up to 40 guests

Music: until midnight
